Word Power Ministries began in November 1987 with only two members. The ministry was from the start a call to Prayer and Preaching which the Lord helped us to execute on different platforms and forums as a non-denominational ministry. In December 1993, the Lord asked the founding Pastor, Apostle Sarah Mina Ogaree to start a fresh work, which culminated to the Church Arm of the ministry, called the Word Power Church.
